KLIKSAJA – All eyes of MLS fans in the 2025 season will be on Chase Stadium on Saturday, December 6, when Inter Miami face the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS Cup final.
Whatever the outcome, history will be made. The winner of this match will claim their first-ever MLS Cup title, making this one of the most exciting finals to date.
Florida is set to erupt on Saturday as their hometown heroes—modern-day gladiators—take the field for the last time in the 2025 season in pursuit of the prestigious trophy.
After failing to retain the Supporters’ Shield this season, Inter Miami are determined to secure their first MLS Cup in their debut appearance in the final.
Head coach Javier Mascherano has set this goal since the start of the campaign, but now the mission is clear: finish the job for the city, the state, and the two players who will be retiring.
It’s hard to underestimate Miami, who have been sensational in the playoffs, winning their last three matches by a margin of at least four goals.
The hosts also boast the best attacking line in the United States, scoring 98 goals across the regular season and playoffs—the highest total in a single MLS season.
However, there is one lingering concern: Inter Miami have not beaten the Whitecaps this season, a fact that may weigh slightly on the players’ minds.
Even so, the Miami crowd is expected to create an atmosphere that lifts the home team’s spirits.
The Vancouver Whitecaps have been outstanding on their path to their first MLS Cup final, including a 3-1 away victory last week over Western Conference champions San Diego.
Jesper Sorensen’s squad have proven this season that they are fearless on the road. They set club records for points (63), wins (18), goals (66), and goal difference (+28) in a single season.
The Whitecaps also captured their fourth consecutive Canadian Championship earlier this year and reached the final of the Concacaf Champions Cup, where they were defeated by Cruz Azul.
They even had to get past Inter Miami in a two-legged semifinal, winning both home and away for a 5-1 aggregate victory.
The Whitecaps are now the first Canadian team to reach the MLS Cup final since Toronto in 2019, and they aim to become the first Canadian champions since Toronto’s 2017 victory.
