KLIK SAJA - The United States’ military strike on three of Iran’s major nuclear facilities—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan—on Saturday (June 21, 2025), has sparked widespread condemnation from various international actors.

This aggressive move not only escalates the already tense regional conflict between Israel and Iran but also marks a dangerous new chapter in global geopolitical tensions, with the potential to ignite a broader international crisis.

President Donald Trump announced that the strikes were part of a joint effort between the U.S. and Israel to neutralize what he described as a "horrific threat" posed by Iran to Israel.

He asserted that the operation was a strategic and precision-based initiative aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

However, the attack quickly drew harsh criticism from both within Iran and the broader international community, including legal scholars and human rights observers.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the assault as a grave violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

"The United States, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has violated the very norms it is entrusted to uphold," Araghchi declared.

Central to the criticism is the fact that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has found no evidence that Iran’s nuclear facilities were being used for weapons development.

This suggests that the targeted sites were part of Iran’s civilian nuclear program, which remains under international oversight and legal frameworks.

Therefore, the military strikes on these facilities can be seen as unlawful acts of aggression that breach the principles of state sovereignty and non-intervention.

Beyond the legal ramifications, the environmental implications of such attacks are deeply alarming.

Targeting nuclear facilities raises the risk of radioactive leaks, which pose severe health hazards to nearby populations and long-term damage to ecosystems.

The potential for radioactive contamination in densely populated areas is a threat that cannot be dismissed.

This U.S. action, portrayed as an act of solidarity with Israel, sets a perilous precedent—one that could legitimize the use of military force against peaceful nuclear infrastructure.
