KLIK SAJA - After their first home victory in the 2025 MLS season, CF Montreal will wrap up a three-game homestand this Saturday as they host Inter Miami at Saputo Stadium.
Last weekend, Le CFM edged out New York City FC with a narrow 1-0 win, while Inter Miami have not played a league match since late May, when they thrashed the Columbus Crew 5-1.
The long-awaited home win finally came last Saturday, allowing Montreal to end the month of June on a high note.
With two victories in their last three league games, the Canadian side is slowly climbing out of the Eastern Conference basement.
They now sit just three points behind Atlanta United heading into this weekend.
Marco Donadel’s squad has a real opportunity to not only escape the bottom of the standings but also claim back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
So far in 2025, Le CFM have held the lead at halftime in four matches and have yet to lose when leading after 45 minutes, winning their last two games in that scenario.
Montreal have conceded only one first-half goal across their last three home matches. However, they've only managed five first-half goals at Saputo Stadium all season.
Le CFM have earned points in six of their last seven home encounters against Florida-based MLS teams, including a 0-0 draw with Orlando City in April—Montreal’s first home point of the season.
Meanwhile, after their Club World Cup dreams were dashed last weekend, Inter Miami are refocusing their efforts on climbing the Supporters’ Shield standings.
Javier Mascherano’s men were dismantled 4-0 by reigning UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, yet they arrive in Montreal on a three-match MLS unbeaten run.
For Lionel Messi, this match might serve as a form of consolation following a painful loss to his former club.
Currently, Miami trail Philadelphia Union by 11 points at the top of the table but have four games in hand over the five teams above them in the Eastern Conference.
Offensively, Miami have been lethal in domestic competition, scoring three or more goals in five of their seven MLS matches in May. They were inactive in the league throughout June due to their Club World Cup schedule.
