KLIK SAJA - AC Milan has officially confirmed the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Sergio Conceicao.

The Rossoneri relieved Conceicao of his duties on Thursday (May 29), just five months after he took charge of the team at San Siro.

The Portuguese coach was deemed unsuccessful after ending the 2024–25 season with poor results.

Milan suffered a 0-1 defeat to Bologna in the Coppa Italia final and only managed to finish eighth in the Serie A standings, which means they will not be competing in any European competition next season.

Following Conceicao’s dismissal, Milan acted swiftly to reach an agreement with Allegri, who returns for a second stint with the club after previously managing them from July 2010 to January 2014.

The 57-year-old had been without a club since parting ways with Juventus at the end of the 2023–24 season. He is reported to have signed a three-year contract with Milan, which will run until the summer of 2028.

Allegri is expected to make his second managerial debut with Milan in a pre-season friendly match against Arsenal.

"AC Milan is pleased to announce that Massimiliano Allegri has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Men’s First Team," read an official statement on the club's website.

"The club extends a warm welcome and best wishes to Massimiliano and his staff."

Allegri’s first match in his second tenure with Milan is likely to take place against Premier League giants Arsenal in a pre-season friendly set to be held in Singapore on July 23.

Three days later, the Rossoneri will face Liverpool in Hong Kong, before continuing their summer preparations with matches against Perth Glory (July 31) and Leeds United (August 9).

During his first spell at San Siro, Allegri recorded 91 wins from 178 matches, leading Milan to the 2010–11 Serie A title and the 2011 Supercoppa Italiana.

As Allegri begins to adapt to the current Milan squad, several of the Rossoneri’s key players are being linked with summer departures.

One of them is Rafael Leao, a highly sought-after forward who is on the radar of several top clubs. Arsenal is reportedly in contact over a potential transfer, though his €175 million release clause (approximately IDR 2.7 trillion) could complicate the deal.
