KLIK SAJA - Inter Miami will wrap up their two-game MLS road trip on Wednesday as they head to Gillette Stadium in Greater Boston to face off against the New England Revolution.
The Revs are currently four points below the Eastern Conference playoff line following a 2-1 defeat to the Portland Timbers on Saturday, while Messi and his teammates remain in sixth place after an emphatic 4-1 victory over CF Montreal last weekend.
New England, who briefly reentered the playoff picture earlier this spring, have struggled since the start of June — earning just one point from their last four league matches.
Caleb Porter's side is winless in their last four home games in MLS, matching their longest home drought of the 2024 regular season at Gillette Stadium.
They’ve also lost their last two matches when going into halftime level and have dropped a total of 10 points this season despite scoring the opening goal in those games.
Although the Revs have conceded the third-fewest goals in MLS this year (23), their home defensive record has taken a hit lately, conceding three goals in each of their last two outings at Gillette.
With 24 points from 19 league matches, New England are actually in a slightly better position than at this point last season, sitting two points ahead of their 2024 tally.
They’ve won two of their last three home matches against Miami — including a 3-1 victory in June 2023.
On the other hand, Inter Miami showed great resilience last Saturday. After falling behind early against Montreal, they responded with four unanswered goals to extend their MLS unbeaten run.
Javier Mascherano’s side is unbeaten in their last four league games and has lost just once in their previous six MLS fixtures.
Currently, they trail Eastern Conference leaders FC Cincinnati by 10 points, but with four games in hand. A win on Wednesday could propel them above Orlando City into fifth place.
Another midweek victory would also match their longest winning streak of the 2025 regular season (four matches) and push them nine points clear of the playoff cut-off.
Miami's attack is on fire, having scored three or more goals in each of their last four MLS games. They now lead the Eastern Conference in total goals scored with 40.
The Herons have dominated recent meetings with the Revs, winning the last two by a combined score of 10-3 — including a 4-1 rout in this same fixture last season.
